We are at the garden as usual on Thursday 27th April. Planting out the seed potatoes and broccoli. Preparing the ground for our comfrey patch. Tending the new seedlings and a general tidy up.

Suggested donation is £10 per person, and payment will be by CASH only delivered to the organisers home address in Sopwell, St Albans.

Seed box
We’ve got new additions to the seed box at 71 Leyland Avenue:
Runner beans, French beans, sweetcorn, courgettes and butternut squash.
All good to sow now but protect from frost.
Loads of other veggie seeds too, including seed potatoes, and some wildlife-friendly flowers seeds
Limited supplies so be quick.

Comfrey (Bocking 14) – great to make plant fertilizer out of and pollinators love it.
Sorrel ‘Belleville’ a perennial lemon-flavoured salad leaf
Purple sprouting broccoli
Dwarf peas

Tomatoes ‘Tumbling Tom’ – ideal for hanging baskets and containers

SustFest23 Open Day: June 11th

Put Sunday June 11th into your diary to come along to the Community Garden on Berners Drive for Grow’s SustFest Open Day. Between 10.30am and 12.30pm to take part in seeds and seedling swaps, planting, children’s activities, cake and more! Come and celebrate local food growing with us.
