Come help develop the Martyr Close wildflower area Sunday 5th March

Community planting session

Bug hotel with mixed materials

Come along from 10 am onwards ’til 2 pm on Sunday 5th March 2023 to Martyr Close, AL1 2LL. Help us plant wildflowers and make bug hotels. Bring along bug hotel ingredients such as twigs, small branches, toilet rolls, bamboo canes, palettes, broken terracotta tiles or pots if you have them or help us build one with the bits we have. Donate wildflower seeds or help spread the seeds we have. Let’s make this patch of land a local wildlife haven!

Take part in a Community Harvest!

Trolley with apples and other fruit and veg in it

We’re so happy to partner with Cottonmill and Nunnery Allotment Association and St Albans Community Pantry on this Community Harvest project. We’ve provided a trolley to share surplus produce with our community. It’s got pride of place at the new Cottonmill Community and Cycling Centre.

Drop off washed and labelled fruit and veg to the trolley. If you drop between Monday and Thursday, you’ll be especially helping the key foodbanks on those days. Let us know if you make something nice with anything you’ve taken from the trolley as well!
