A big thank you to everyone who came to Grow Community – Sopwell’s 5th AGM; it was lovely to see old faces and new!

Missed it? Have a read of our minutes below, including a summary of the fantastic talk by our invited speaker, local fruit growing expert Hamid El Bouchiki.
Thanks to everyone who came along to our 2024 AGM. This year included a tour of the growing spaces at the Cottonmill Community and Cycling Centre (well done to the youth groups growing in the raised beds!), an overview of an active year, and some fantastic sharing food.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for our annual review and AGM last night. With dusk descending, we were given a beautiful tour as Kate discussed the ongoing plans for the community centre before outlining future proposals, including further establishment of the orchard and wildflower areas.
Then, all back inside for AGM formalities and trustee updates, and the launch of the Sopwell Jigsaw Meadow project, before our community feast.
A real diverse offering of dishes using locally-grown produce for us all to share. It was a wonderful night and hopefully it can inspire even more of you to help the area ‘grow’ together.
To be held at: Cottonmill Community and Cycling Centre, Old Oak, Off Cottonmill Lane, AL1 2EF, St Albans 7-9pm
There will be a sharing buffet from 8pm
